Who Should Apply?
Our Competition is an all inclusive event. Any Performer is welcomed to apply. Any Gender, Any Color, Any Age, Any Size, Any Shape, Any Art, Any Skill Level, Any One: Burlesque, Boylesque, Drag, Comedy, Circus, Variety, Singing, Bellydance, Ballroom, Duos, Groups, and more. . .


What Act(s) Should I Submit?
Performers are encouraged to submit High Energy and Polished Performance Acts! We are looking for the Best You Got! Any Length, Any Style, Any Genre!

Performers are allowed to submit multiple performance acts : However, you must submit a separate application for EACH performance act you would like to submit

A suggested donation of $25.00 for EACH
performance application is welcomed

There is NO Limit on the Number of Acts you can submit
​​Performance Restrictions:
Fire, Aerial, Pole, Liquid, Confetti, Glitter, and Other Mess, are strictly prohibited. Feathers must stay intact and not fall off props or costume


How Does The Competition Work?
Saturday Night July 18th 2026
There will be 8 Selected Artists to Perform in the Pastie Throwdown. Each Artist will perform their (1) performance act (1) time in the evening

This is a Fun Competition where Performers will be Scored on Various Performance Characteristics​ by a Special Guest Panel of Judges
Judging Categories and Examples
The Tease & Technique:
The Reveal, Musicality, Pastie-Twirl Control

Stage Presence:
"Catwalk" Power, Audience Engagement, Gaze
Creativity:
Character Development, Storytelling, Costume Peel
​​AUDIENCE VOTE:
The Audience Will also be part of the Judging Process! Each Audience Member will have a Ballot to Cast their VOTE for their Choice to Win!
The Audience Vote will only be a portion of the Final Score - The Winner Will Not Solely Be The Audience Choice

Venue Specs
The Pastie Throwdown will take place at
The Cathedral
(350 North Garey Ave - Pomona, CA 91767) ​
-The Stage Dimensions are 32ft Wide x 20ft in Length with an attached Catwalk that extends into the audience 4ft Wide x 24ft in Length
-There is 1 entrance and exit point for artists to enter and leave the stage
*All performances must remain
on the stage area - No traveling into the
audience is allowed*




Rehearsal At Venue
Performers who are accepted to perform in the Pastie Throwdown, will be able to attend a scheduled rehearsal at the venue to run through their performance act.
Each performer will receive 10 minutes to walk the stage, see all the available performance spaces, and have their piece ran through in its entirety (1) time.

The Rehearsal will happen (1) hour before Doors Open to the Public.

More Information
A total of (8) performers will be accepted to perform in the Saturday Night July 18th 2026 Pastie Throwdown Burlesque Competition. Applications Are Open April 1st 2026 - May 31st 2026 - Closing at MIDNIGHT. Applications received at and after 12:01 AM June 1st 2026, will not qualify for submission. Acceptance Letters will be sent out beginning June 2nd 2026.

ALL Performers and Crew will NOT be provided and will NOT be reimbursed for any travel, transportation, parking, lodging, food & drink, or health & medical related accommodations which may occur as a result of attending/working/performing at the event. The creators of the event and the venue are not responsible for providing accommodations of any sort.

There is No Guest List. No Drink Tickets. No Comps. Parking is not provided nor reimbursed. There is Metered Parking Available on the Street Surrounding the Venue as well as multiple lots and structures with small Parking Fees.
 
Although Safety is Always a Priority, the producers of the event and the venue are not liable for any sickness, harm, or injury you may encounter or experience while at the venue or while performing. Perform at your own risk.

Please do not destroy, vandalize, or ruin any of the venue's property. You will be held responsible for any damages you may inflict upon the property – the producers will not be held accountable for your actions.
